The Bachelor meets The Runaway Bride in this addictive romance novel about a reality TV producer falling for her would-be star: a Montana heartthrob who wants nothing to do with the show.

Jordan Carpenter thinks she’s finally found the perfect candidate for Jilted, a new dating show about runaway grooms: Luke Elliott, a playboy firefighter who’s left not one but three brides at the altar. The only problem? Luke refuses to answer Jordan’s emails or return her calls. Which is how she ends up on a flight to Montana to recruit him in person. It’s not Manhattan but at least the locals in Lucky Hollow seem friendly . . . except for Luke, who’s more intense—and way hotter—than the slick womanizer Jordan expected.

Eager to put the past behind him, Luke has zero intention of following this gorgeous, fast-talking city girl back to New York. But before he can send her packing, Jordan’s everywhere: at his favorite bar, the county fair, even his exes’ book club. Annoyingly, everyone in Lucky Hollow seems to like her—and deep down, she’s starting to grow on him too. But the more he fights her constant pestering, the more Luke finds himself wishing that Jordan would kick off her high heels and make herself comfortable in his arms.

Lauren Layne is the New York Times bestselling author of over a dozen romantic comedies.

A former e-commerce and web marketing manager from Seattle, Lauren relocated to New York City in 2011 to pursue a full-time writing career.

She lives in midtown Manhattan with her high-school sweetheart, where she writes smart romantic comedies with just enough sexy-times to make your mother blush. In LL’s ideal world, every stiletto-wearing, Kate Spade wielding woman would carry a Kindle stocked with Lauren Layne books.

5 Stars

When Lauren Layne announced this book, I could hardly contain my excitement – I desperately wanted Ready to Run as soon as I read the blurb.  So when it hit my Kindle – I think I might have let out a little squeal. I was overwhelmed with glee and pure happiness to have my hands on Jordan and Luke’s romance.

But how I felt at the beginning is nothing compared to how I felt at this end of this love story.  I was absolutely blown away. I thought his book was clever and filled with fun hijinks as well as a swoon worthy romance – I was completely smitten with this couple and their book exceeded all of my expectations.

Here’s the deal. Jordan has begrudgingly gone to the middle of nowhere to sign a new contestant for her bachelor type reality show.  She’s chosen the perfect man to charm and steal the hearts of her tv viewers.  She just needs to convince him of it.

Except for Luke wants nothing to do with the show. In fact, he thinks the whole thing is quite ridiculous – he doesn’t need or want to enter a contest to find another bride. Beyond that, he hates the idea of having his potential relationship broadcast to the whole world.  Having the residents of his town in his love life has been bad enough.

However, the biggest roadblock is that the only person’s attention he actually wants to gain is Jordan’s.

And as a reader, you get it. The chemistry and passion shared between these two characters is fantastic.  I was completely consumed by their budding relationship as well as empathic to the hurdles they needed to overcome to find happiness together.  I couldn’t put their story down.

Ready to Run is a top recommendation from me.  The characters are well developed and likable. Their love story is sexy and enticing.  It’s just a fabulous book overall.  So I cannot suggest meeting Luke and Jordan enough – I promise, you’ll love them as much as I do!
