Together they lived a life fit for royalty.
But when tragedy strikes, Karrie is devastated and left to face the consequences of her husband’s deepest, darkest secrets. Discovering the strength to carry on while making important, life-changing decisions, she finds herself desperate for answers. And holding the key to the puzzle is the one man she loathes immensely.
For up and coming motorcycle drag racer Tyler Strong, keeping painful secrets was never part of the plan. Racing motorcycles and winning was all he ever wanted to do. But when his best friend’s lies begin to unravel, Tyler is sent into a tailspin when he’s forced to come face to face with the one woman he vowed to stay away from. The woman he refuses to speak to, the woman he avoids, the woman he watches…from a distance.
As the truth becomes clear, will destiny bring these two unlikely souls together or tear them apart forever?
L.M. Carr, author of The Giving Trilogy, is a wife, a mom, an educator, a reader and a writer who lives in central Connecticut with her family and two dogs. When she’s not sitting at her computer writing, she loves to read or spend time with family and friends.
The idea for the trilogy formed in the summer of 2013 and wouldn’t leave her alone, until she picked up a pen and jotted the thoughts down. Before long, words flowed as the story began to unravel.
L.M. Carr is a lover of “Happily Ever Afters” because the world is filled with enough sadness. Reading is an escape in which anything is possible. But like in reality, stories sometimes take you on a journey through Hell before you can reach Heaven.
Follow along as we begin this journey together.
Aargh. Raw truth. From A Distance is either a book that you freaking love or it’s a book that you struggle to finish. I bounced back and forth with where I stood. Moment to moment – I was either all in or wishing it was over. (Don’t hate me!!)
Karrie thought she had it all – or at least that is what the book’s blurb has you believing. As you get to know her character, you realize that she’s known for sometime that her life isn’t a perfect fairy tale. She just didn’t have the entire picture of how deceitful and awful her husband truly was.
One man did. Tyler. Alex’s best friend and racing buddy. He saw it all. Every terrible thing that Alex did and it crushed him. He couldn’t imagine taking Karrie for granted.
Tragedy brings them together and they share an emotional journey overcoming the fallout. Scene after scene brought more heartache and drama to the lives of these two people. Seriously. This poor couple – karma should have been on their side but she was just not letting them find solace.
What drove me nuts was that I just did not think that all the turmoil was necessarily needed – it was a little over the top. From A Distance is definitely a book filled with heartache and angst but it’s also a story about a second chance at getting love right nd I loved Karrie with Tyler – they will make you feel all swoony and hot.
That’s why I think From A Distance absolutely worth checking out but be prepared for an overly emotional ride!
