The price of survival…
Gabriel Miller swept into my life like a storm. He tore down my father with cold retribution, leaving him penniless in a hospital bed. I quit my private all-girl’s college to take care of the only family I have left.
There’s one way to save our house, one thing I have left of value.
A forbidden auction…
Gabriel appears at every turn. He seems to take pleasure in watching me fall. Other times he’s the only kindness in a brutal underworld.
Except he’s playing a deeper game than I know. Every move brings us together, every secret rips us apart. And when the final piece is played, only one of us can be left standing.
THE PAWN is a full-length contemporary novel from New York Times bestselling author Skye Warren about revenge and seduction in the game of love.
Skye Warren is the New York Times bestselling author of dark romance such as Wanderlust and Prisoner. Praised as a “true mistress of dark erotica”, her books have been featured in Jezebel, Buzzfeed, USA Today Happily Ever After, Glamour, and Elle Magazine. She makes her home in Texas with her loving family, four dogs, and one evil cat.
Holy crap!! My heart is racing. I just finished Skye Warren’s The Pawn and I feel like I’m staring at my iPad with bug eyes, saying Dooooooooode. Seriously, my jaw is on the ground and I’m speechless. This book freaking blew me away with its awesomeness.
Avery is trapped. Desperate. Her situation isn’t of her own making but it’s also one she cannot escape. She needs money or help but has neither so she commits herself to doing what she must to survive. Her choice is brave. And a bit scary.
Her decision puts her directly in the path of Gabriel. A very powerful and passionate man.
Here’s where Avery’s story gets intense and hella complicated. Gabriel destroyed Avery’s dad’s life for betraying him. He made an example of what happens to people if they cross him. So while Gabriel might not have started the mess Avery is involved in – he is definitely uses her problems to propel Avery toward her new future in which he can control and possibly manipulate her.
It leaves you to wonder if he wants Avery for himself or to further punish her father.
The story keeps you right on the edge of your seat. These two… are freaking hot. Tempting. Alluring. Passionate. I can’t wait to see what happen next for these two in the Knight.
The Pawn is a top recommendation from me. You MUST experience all of Gabriel and Avery’s craziness for yourself. So stop what you’re doing and get reading now. You’ll be psyched that you did.
