Checkmate Duet (Book 2)
Release Date: December 13
Genre: Enemies to Lovers Romance
The anticipated conclusion of The Checkmate Duet from a secret duo of bestselling authors! Checkmate: This is War is an enemies to lovers romance that will have you crying with laughter one moment and screaming in frustration the next… but you’ll be begging to play the game with The King.
Viola Fisher is the epitome of perfection.
She despises my one-night stands and mocks my less-than-classy habits.
She’s smart, beautiful, and too good to be true.
And I want her.
If she were anyone else, I’d have made my move years ago, but considering she’s my best friend’s little sister, she’s always been off-limits. Not to mention how much she loathes my very existence.
Hating me is her religion, but needing her is mine. Her sexy curves and filthy smart mouth make me want her even more, and I’m more determined than ever to change her mind.
I’ll prove I’m done playing games.
But until then, we’ll continue to play by her rules.
Viola Fisher may have won the battle, but the war isn’t over yet.
*Recommend for ages 18+ due to sexual content and adult language.*

Kennedy Fox is a duo of bestselling authors who share a love of You’ve Got Mail and The Holiday. When they aren’t bonding over romantic comedies, they like to brainstorm new book ideas. One day, they decided to collaborate together under a pseudonym and have some fun creating new characters that’ll make your lady bits tingle and your heart melt. If you enjoy romance stories with sexy, tattooed alpha males and smart, independent women, then a Kennedy Fox book is for you! Both authors are from Manhattan living the glamorous bachelorette life, or perhaps they’re just confusing themselves with an episode of Sex and the City (Total #Girlcrush SJP). Either way, they’re looking forward to bringing you many more stories to fall in love with!
Holy hell. This series gets my blood pumping. Travis and Viola’s story inspires all kinds of passionate feelings – seriously. I’m either incredibly turned on or really pissed off by these two characters.
So I don’t want to give any spoilers away – just know the plot picks up right where the first book jaw droppingly ended with all hell breaking lose. Initially, a lot is unclear and your mind swirls with possibilities as you read because you’re given no real answers. However, Drew and Viola give Travis the benefit of the doubt and trust him to give answers when he’s ready.
I on the other hand, wanted to pull Travis into an interrogation room and demand answers. I was hurt on Drew and Viola’s behalf. But then Travis’ true character shines as he courts Viola and the more I got to know him, the more I realized he was one of the good guys who did deserve that trust (even if he was keeping secrets for the wrong reasons and a reformed manwhore).
I was addicted to this couple and I loved them settling into their relationship. However, Travis’s secrets left me anticipating the moment it would all go to hell. (Cause you know – secrets (and Mia) have a way of cock blocking even the best relationships.) I devoured page after page and I loved how the story unfolded. It was emotional and intense.
Overall, I thought Travis and Viola’s enemies to lovers romance was fun to read. But oh my cliffhanger… I finished Checkmate: This is Love exactly as I felt at the end of the first installment… basically, I have the overwhelming urge to throat punch Mia. But that’s a whole another story – literately. One I can’t freaking wait to read.
So if you haven’t started this series, don’t wait another moment to do so; and if you have read the first book, Kennedy Fox gives a satisfying conclusion to Travis and Viola that you don’t want to miss out on. Either way, the Checkmate Duet is a must read. Get it now.
