book blurbFractions of seconds can do lots of damage. One decision can ruin lives. A blink can be tragic. And loving a Hollister…can hurt like hell.

I would know.

They say the average person can hold their breath under water for two full minutes when pushed to the extremes. Will Hollister has been holding his for years. The oldest of two elite swimming brothers, Will was always a dominant force in the water. But in life, he preferred to let his younger brother Evan be the one to shine.

Evan got the girl, and Will…he got to bury all of the secrets. A brother’s burden, the weight of it all nearly left him to drown.

The daughter of two Olympians, my path was set the day my fingertips first touched water. My future was as crystal clear as the lane I dominated in the pool—swim hard, win big, love a Hollister.

My life with Evan burned bright. He gave me arms to come home to, and a smile that fooled the world into believing everything was perfect. But it was Will who pushed me. Will…who really knew me.

And when all of the pieces fell, it was Will who started to pick them up.

In the end, the only thing that matters are those few precious seconds—and what we decide to do while we still have them in our grasp.

Ginger lives in Arizona and is married to her college sweetheart whom she met at ASU (fork ’em, Devils).

my review

5 Stars

Oh my. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this book right now because Hold My Breath is INCREDIBLE. The story was so freaking powerful that it left me feeling raw but I absolutely loved every moment of journey the author took me on.

So I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect after reading the Hold My Breath’s blurb. Was this to be a love triangle between brothers?!?  Was it a second chance romance?!  How would it all play out??   It didn’t really matter either way to me because I had to read this book.  What I found was a story is about healing and overcoming the aftershocks of a tragedy.

The character’s truths will gut you. The heartache and misfortune that weighs on Will’s shoulders was enough to leave my heart aching for him. But it’s not just him that I hurt for – the pain that Maddy lives with is unending especially when she finds out that Evan had several secrets that he kept from her.  It’s a hella complicated situation that left me devouring page after page so I could experience their happily ever after.

Hold My Breath’s story blew me out of the water.  It’s a beautiful love story but what endeared me to this book was the love and passion – the friendship – shared between Will and Maddy. They reconnected slowly but it felt real. The push and pull dynamic between them is intense. These two fighting for what they want filled me with hope.  I ended the book feeling blissful and happy.

Ginger Scott is one of my favorite authors because she tells the most realistic and heartwarming tales of love. You feel it when her characters struggle. You understand and relate to their pain. You give your heart away when they surrender their love. It’s simply spectacular reading and I recommend that you don’t miss out on it.
