book blurb

I was a pawn.
Weak and someone easily manipulated.
To be played with as he saw fit.
Until YOU.
YOU shone light in my now dark world.
It was YOU who made me smile.
For the first time in this game, I had hope.
All because of YOU.
The more powerful pieces on the board, however, were a threat to YOU and me.
They would win at any cost.
Two kings ruling with an iron fist.
Allies or opponents, it was hard to tell.
YOU promised to save me.
Told me we would win.
But then I was on the wrong side of the board.
This isn’t YOU, baby.
And I don’t know what to do.
The game is almost over and I’m counting on YOU.
Tick, tock…
This Isn’t You, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes, excessive drug use, and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for YOU.
This story will make YOU smile.
This story will make YOU angry.
This story will make YOU crazy.

I hope YOU love it, baby.

my review

5 Stars

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this new duo. I assumed after reading the previous books that Ren and Brie would have a complicated relationship and love story that I would probably never forget.  I also figured it was going to be one freaking crazy book.

But sweet Jesus. Nothing could have prepared me for this story. It’s intense. Sad. Addicting.

Ren and Brie don’t share a twisted past. Their parents do. Their feelings and love are pure… it’s sweet in that innocent first love way. But it doesn’t take long for it to get all kinds of messed up when his family’s past and her current future collide.  I

I thought their book, This Isn’t You, Baby was a dark tale of perplexing and troublesome group of characters. It’s an impressive and intriguing story that left me wanting more time with the storyline as well as a happily ever after for Ren and Brie.

It’s obviously not a standalone and hopefully you’ve been reading the series so you’re ready to devour the latest installment. If you haven’t picked up any of these books yet, I highly recommend that you set aside a couple of days to delve into the mass that is the War & Peace series.
