Beautiful Damaged Series (Book 3)
Release Date: July 2016
Avery Collins has just landed her dream job, pastry chef for the posh-Manhattan restaurant, Clover. Her new boss, Trace Montgomery, even helped with securing her an affordable place to live: a beautifully restored carriage house owned by his friend, Rafe McKenzie—a man that makes her catch her breath and stirs her imagination. Trouble is, he’s involved with someone, his father is being released after 25 years in prison and Avery is just his tenant. Exploring the attraction that sizzles whenever they’re together would be the icing on the cake, but Avery knows all too well that you can’t have everything. Of course, what’s cake without icing?
Rafe McKenzie’s world shattered at nine when his father Liam—the only parent he knew—was arrested and convicted for armed robbery. Growing up in the system, Rafe managed to survive his childhood and now has a job he enjoys, a house he’s restoring and a tight circle of friends. He’s even working on reconciling with his dad, both eager to put the past in the past.
Happy for the income a tenant would bring, Rafe agrees to rent his carriage house to Clover’s new pastry chef. When Avery Collins pulls up his drive, she’s not at all what he’s expecting. Funny, sexy and as sweet as her desserts, it doesn’t take long for things between them to heat up. Just when it seems as if they’ll have their cake and eat it too, the past comes back with deadly intent leaving Rafe to figure out who’s pulling the strings before his world shatters again.

“So you’re an artist of sugar.”
I love the Beautiful Damaged Series. Between the badass male leads and the intriguing heroines, I am beyond hooked. The latest release Beautifully Decadent might be my favorite book of the series so far – it was incredible.
Avery is a new addition to the scene. She recently graduated from New York culinary school and is up for her dream job at Clover (Trace’s restaurant). At the start of the book, it feels like she has a lot of balls up in the air and she’s trying to find her way. However, Trace being the amazing man he is, helps her with a job and a new home living in Rafe’s carriage house.
Rafe has been with this series since the beginning so it was nice to finally get my hands on this tempting and highly intriguing man. He has a complicated past because of his family and a slightly insane girlfriend (who you will absolutely want to throat punch). But he’s a good guy – I’ve wanted him to find happiness and love since first meeting him.
When they meet, neither one expected to feel the lust that they experience. The pull between these two is intense and the sexual tension runs high. It’s freaking AWESOME reading. I loved every moment of their flirtatious foreplay and witty banter. I was desperate for the moment that they surrendered to their feelings and lust.
But obviously they have a few hurdles to over come (ahem.. the witch of a girlfriend) and it takes a bit before they try for more. It’s around that time that Rafe’s families problems come into play and the plot becomes a bit more suspenseful. Exciting. There are several jaw dropping moments that leave your heart racing and that will have you devouring the pages to find the truths. I loved it.
Overall, Beautifully Decadent isn’t quite as thrilling as the previous books but it is an amazing love story with completely engaging characters. I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with the couples from the previous books and I will look forward to potentially getting more from this author.
I absolutely suggest purchasing this book as well as the others in the series.
