my review

5 Stars

If you’re anything like me, you’re curious to truly get to know the parents of the Walker men after reading the Alluring Indulgences series. Curtis and Lorrie Walker raised some fabulous yet complex men. So it is incredible to finally read about their love in Curtis.  And I was not disappointed – their story was everything I could ever want from a romance book.

Curtis starts in the middle of chaos and then it jumps back to 1962 – to the day where these to met. They are so young with Curtis just turning 17 and Lorrie is only 14. However, right from the start the connection was there – it was if their souls found their mate and even though they are children, it tethers them together for life.  Slowly the passion builds between these two but more importantly, so does their friendship.  Curtis and Lorrie became each other’s everything.

Each chapter brings their story forward in time, sharing all the moments that bonded this couple together. They essentially grow into the adults we all know and love right before your eyes. Just like anyone’s life, they have ups and downs – times that they celebrated and those that were hard.

The power of Nicole Edward’s writing ability is that I experienced all that they lived through. I could imagine falling in love the gruff Curtis and I hurt when Lorrie loses people that she loves. I swooned and cried.  I laughed.  Basically, it was as though I lived and loved a lifetime worth of memories in just a few hours, it was incredible.

I couldn’t put Curtis down – I think I felt every emotion available in my heart and I loved every single second of it.  Curtis and Lorrie’s book was intense as well as fun but most of all it is truly a love story.

I think everyone should know the Walker family and meet their loves.  Curtis is a must read recommendation from me.
