J. J. McAvoy
J. J. McAvoy first started working on Ruthless People during a Morality and Ethics lecture her freshman year of college. X number of years later, she is an insomniac who has changed her major three times, and is a master in the art of procrastination. If you ask her why she began writing, she will simply tell you “They wanted to get their story out.”
She is currently working on her next novel . . . so please bug her on Twitter @JJMcAvoy
Every time J.J. McAvoy writes a book, she is basically inviting you to visit some chaotic world where you’re not quite sure about hero or even if the heroine deserves to be saved. It’s always absolute madness but you freaking love being there. You’re desperate for the messed up couple to get their happily ever after and you’re pleased as hell that you get to experience every moment it takes for them to get there.
Her latest release, Child Star was originally written as a three part serial and I could not wait to read it. This book’s blurb had it all – Romance. Drama. Suspense. It looked completely enticing and turned out to be awesome.
At its core, Child Star is a second chance romance yet the plot has so many intense and complex layers that it makes the story so much more and leaves you completely captivated. But basically, Amelia needs to break out of her America’s Sweetheart image if she wants her career to survive and Noah must prove that he’s more than the drunken bad boy the world perceived him as. And they must do it together – even though they share a painful history.
Their love/hate relationship stems from their teen romance – which ended badly. However, no matter what happened years ago, these two have this crazy, sexual chemistry. It’s powerful. Their feelings smack you in the face and gets your heart pounding – honestly, I could not stop reading their story. Scene after scene their actions made me feel obsessed with this couple. I couldn’t read fast enough.
Their romance is coupled with blackmail and deceit. Certain people are desperately working to keep these two apart and chaos surrounds everything they do. Nothing about their lives is simple or easy and it makes for an incredible reading experience. Noah and Amelia’s lives are both exciting and entertaining. It’s quite the story.
I absolutely loved Child Star. Definitely check this must read romance out!
