Release Date: November 10, 2012
Beloved #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover returns with an unforgettable love story between a writer and his unexpected muse.
Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.
Can Ben’s relationship with Fallon—and simultaneously his novel—be considered a love story if it ends in heartbreak?
Colleen Hoover is the author of eight New York Times bestselling novels. She self-published her first novel, SLAMMED, in 2012. Five months later it debuted on The New York Times. Her next novel, November 9, is scheduled to release in November, 2015.
Ugly Love, a novel she released in August, 2014, is currently in pre-production with Hackybox Pictures and is slated to release in 2016.
She lives in Texas with her husband and their three sons.
Sweet Jesus. November 9 was one of the most unconventional romances I have ever read, yet it’s one of the most genuine love stories I have ever experienced. To state that I was consumed by Fallon and Ben might be the understatement of the year.
Colleen Hoover’s books carry this incredible weight of the unknown. The sheer force of it sits on your chest and doesn’t let you take a deep breath until you reach the last page. It’s because you can feel the secrets. But you’re so freaking blinded by her character’s lives and their love that you allow yourself to believe in happily ever afters.
But your subconscious never forgets that Colleen is going to cause such heartache within you – that she is going to crush your soul (and probably giggle about it). You anticipate the moment from the first page of the book and hurt when it occurs. However, it is how she unfolds the continuing plot that makes her books must read romances. She does it in a manor that leaves you no other options but to forgive her flawed characters.
So it really doesn’t matter my thoughts or what my review says. If you’ve read something from Colleen Hoover, than you’ve devoured her entire library and are probably reading November 9 already. And if you’ve stumbled November 9 by accident, karma gave you an incredible gift today. Enjoy.
