Unfortunately, Marcus Adair, the Duke of Wolfeton, has other plans for her future. In town to secure a bride, he has set his sights on Aloria, and no other woman will do. Every now and again I like to throw a historical romance into my reading mix. It reminds me that well written love story doesn’t need show sexual chemistry with scene after scene of erotic or tawdry acts. So when I stumbled across The Siege of Lady Aloria, I was completely ready to be seduced by stolen moments and lingering looks.
Aloria is celebrating her last season of having to deal with trying to find a husband. After being passed over several times, she’s done with it all and it ready to become a spinster. Meeting Marcus catches her off guard – she’s enchanted by his wit and charming personality. He ignites all these feelings within her and she almost cannot ignore the overwhelming passion she feels for him. It’s awesome.
And it’s definitely not one-sided. Marcus is just as bewitched by Aloria. He discovers that what he always thought he wanted in woman isn’t what he needed or truly desires. However, he’s keeping a few secrets from her and they have the potential to destroy any future they might have as a couple. It creates a dramatic filled journey toward their happily ever after and an incredible reading experience.
Aloria and Marcus’s romance completely captured my attention and I was addicted to their story. It was a fun romance – these two were incredibly mischievous characters. Overall, I really enjoyed The Siege of Lady Aloria and I would definitely recommend this book.
