A Legal Affairs Novel
Release Date: October 27, 2015
At the powerhouse law firm of Knight & Payne, winning comes first and ethics a distant second. Leary Michaels uses her female charms to daze opponents, and it’s always worked well—until now. On her most personal case yet, she finds herself going up against a defense attorney just as skilled, shameless, and seductive as she is.
Reeve Holloway has never met a woman as sure of her own sexuality, or as ruthless in wielding it, as Leary is. But he won’t be toyed with. What Leary starts, he’ll finish—in the courtroom, the bedroom, or any-damn-place he wants. The sex is uninhibited, electrifying, and absolutely against the rules. Reeve’s job is to ruin Leary’s case…even if it destroys her in the process and costs him the woman he’s come to love.
New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett is a snarky Southern woman and reformed trial lawyer who decided to finally start putting on paper all of the stories that were floating in her head. Her husband works for a Fortune 100 company that lets him fly all over the world while she stays at home with their daughter and three big, furry dogs who hog the bed.
Bennett would like to report that she doesn’t have many weaknesses but can be bribed with a nominal amount of milk chocolate.
Sawyer Bennett is one of my absolute favorite authors and I was completely giddy to dive into her latest release from the Legal Affairs series. Each of the previous books in this set were sassy, tantalizing reads that I could not put down. So I was not surprised that Friction was highly enticing legal romance; one that was oh so much fun to read.
Leary and Reeve are both intelligent, quick witted and highly sexually charged individuals. They work for two very different types of law firms and are currently opposing council for a huge case. The plot moves along swiftly. Most of the book is leading up to the actual trial but their verbal foreplay and their competitive personalities make for spectacular reading. You’re completely invested in the outcome of their case and rooting for them to overcome the pitfalls of being adversaries.
Right from the first moments together, Leary and Reeve kept me on my toes. These two were completely engaging and captivating characters. I never knew what was going to come out of their mouths or what lines they would cross with their behavior. It was awesome – I spent the majority of their book with a smile on my face.
What was even more impressive was the chemistry between Leary and Reeve – it was monumental. Their connection was freaking intense and highly sensual. They could barely keep their hand off each other and as a reader, you are psyched that they cannot. The passion and lust they exude makes your lady bits tingle and has you devouring page after page. I loved it.
Overall, I thought that Leary and Reeve’s love story was incredible – a can’t miss romance. I definitely recommend you read it as well as the other romances in the Legal Affair series.
