When twenty-four-year-old Felicity Harper is dragged to a sugar party, an event where wealthy men and women seek “companionship,” she never expects this one simple decision to drastically change her whole life. Her past is nothing but broken dreams and heartache. Her present is detached and dull. And her future?
Well, before meeting Theodore Darcy, the famed film director, writer, producer and CEO of Darcy Entertainment, she would have expected more of the same.
Love is just a fantasy and she wants no part of it—even if she can’t deny the undeniable attraction between the two of them. So their arrangement is simple: sex with no strings attracted. But as their intimacy becomes more powerful, so do Felicity’s demons.
Can Theo really shoulder her past and his own?
And could Felicity even let him?

J. J. McAvoy first started working on Ruthless People during a Morality and Ethics lecture her freshman year of college. X number of years later, she is an insomniac who has changed her major three times, and is a master in the art of procrastination. If you ask her why she began writing, she will simply tell you “They wanted to get their story out.”
She is currently working on her next novel . . . so please bug her on Twitter @JJMcAvoy
I am a huge J.J. McAvoy fan. I am consistently impressed with how her storylines entice me and how her books are always the best distractions from real life. I think it is because her characters are intriguing and tug at my heart-strings (usually my panties, too) – leaving me feeling desperate, craving just a few more moments with her peeps because I am not ready to let them go.
I start every new book with some trepidation – terrified that I will be let down by the plot. However, with J.J’s latest standalone release, Sugar Baby Beautiful I definitely was not disappointed. This book was amazing. The plot completely captivated my attention and I loved the emotional ride I experienced with this story.
I absolutely could not get enough of Felicity. She was one sassy and fierce lady who made me laugh and impressed me with her dedication and loyalty to those around her. You know very little about her past but quickly realize her life has taken a completely different path than she originally thought it would. Yet, Felicity makes no excuses – she owns it and does her best with what she has. She seems to take very little for herself and joining her friends at the ‘Sugar Baby’ party was an indulgent moment or her.
When she meets Theo, he is blown away by all that she is but he also has no clue what to do with her. Felicity completely baffles him. She is unlike anyone he has ever met and even though she wants nothing more from him than sex, he cannot help wanting more from her. In his world, it’s rare that a person doesn’t want to use him for their own personal gain and since Felicity only wants him physically that only makes him desire her more.
Their romance was fun and sexy – their connection is intense and passionate. (HOLY HOTNESS!!!). Page after page, I felt more drawn in and curious because J.J. kept dropping these incredible bombs about their lives – it was freaking awesome. Several times I gasped out loud at the plot twists. I seriously could not put this book down simply because it never reached a point that I was ready to take a break. It is a highly entertaining read.
Sugar Baby Beautiful was a spectacular story and a top recommendation from me. Definitely read this book.
