book blurb

Twenty years ago, the movie Hollywood Stardust defined a generation of teens and changed the four actors’ lives forever.

Typecast as the villain both in front and behind the silver screen, Logan Alexander has purposely allowed his star to fade. Now with the 20th Anniversary of the movie on the horizon, he is the only one fit to step into the spotlight, deal with the unwanted publicity, and make sure that things meant to be left on the cutting room floor remain there.

Ivy Vermont has always longed to be a leading lady, yet her paralyzing stage fright has relegated her to stay behind the scenes as a fact checker for Chargge.com’s entertainment webcasts. However, when her one-time poster-boy crush walks in to the studio demanding only she be in charge of his story, she knows she must take advantage of her big break.

Now, Logan tightropes between old loyalties and new love, while Ivy struggles to stay in reality with her ultimate fantasy.

my review

5 Stars

Typecast is a sexy, enticing story that has a mysterious edge to it. The book’s plot pulls you in chapter after chapter until you devoured the entire story and know the truth. It is definitely one of the best books I’ve read yet this year.  It was absolutely magnificent.

Typecast is the first book in this new series about the stars of Hollywood Stardust, and it starts off with Logan and Ivy’s romance.  He is a Hollywood bad boy and she’s a budding reporter covering the anniversary of his movie.  I loved these two characters.  They were fun.  Smart.  Interesting.  Their connection and attraction to one another is alluring and seductive.

Twenty years ago Logan and three other actors created a movie that impacted their generation – then their world imploded with a scandal. One got the blame for the chaos. Two went on to be movie stars. And one completely disappeared off the face of the earth.  Everyone thinks they know what happened that night but none of them have ever talked about it. Rumors swirled and everyone wanted to know their secrets.  What happened that night to the cast of Hollywood Stardust?

Logan is keeping their secret – he’s playing his part and has accepted his role. Except Logan is realizing that to have the future he wants with Ivy, he might have to let it all go.  So he works harder at controlling and manipulating the situation; refusing to let everything he has worked at fall apart.  You learn that he is not doing it all for nefarious reasons.  There is more to his story and after only a few chapters you are rooting for him.  You want him to finally get a happily ever after.

Once Ivy realizes that Logan isn’t anything like the villain he played in a movie but a man she truly cares for, she wants the world to see him as she does.  She is tenacious in her pursuit to right the wrongs of his past even though Logan has asked that she leave it all alone.  As a reader, you’re so thankful for every bit she uncovers – you’re desperate to know what happened between these friends that night in the hotel.

The way Typecast unfolds is brilliant.  You are given glimpses of the past and just enough knowledge to keep you on the edge of your seat. I freaking LOVED it. When Logan and Ivy’s book ended – I was overwhelmed with a feeling of sadness. I had been completely captivated by their world, and I just was not ready for it to end.  I cannot wait for the next book, Limelight.

Typecast is top recommendation from me. Read it now!!
