book blurb

After losing his best friend to another guy, the notoriously too-confident Max Emory suddenly feels lost. He may have devastatingly good looks, an abundance of charm, and a claim to one of the biggest hotel empires around, but he has no ambition anymore. So when his fed-up friends decide they’ve had enough of his moping, they sign him up to be the next bachelor on the reality series Love Island. And between his pride and his forged signature on an ironclad contract, Max just can’t say no.

Now he’s stranded in paradise with twenty-four women, one terrifying goat, and Becca, the breathtaking barista who already turned him down back home. The closer Max gets to Becca, the more determined he becomes to win her over. As she gets to know him better, things start heating up. But is Becca really after Max’s heart—or is she after the cash prize she could claim once the cameras stop rolling?

my review

5 Stars

I’m kind of a book boyfriend slore. I’ve said that I’ve loved more male characters in the past than I care to admit. Annnnddd I’ve probably gushed on and on about how I’ve wanted to have certain fictional characters to be real on my social media a time or two. However, I don’t make certain statements lightly and I’ve never admitted to preferring one character over another, so this is a first.

Max Emory might be my absolute most favorite book character. EVER. If I somehow got the machine from Weird Science and could create a man – Max would be the one.

I fell for all of Max’s charm and craziness in The Consequence of Loving Colton. I loved all of his pranks and odd truths. Trying to follow his logic and chaotic plans made me laugh out loud. I squealed when I saw he was getting his own book and that I had the opportunity to read about him finding love.  I was giddy when I read the blurb for The Consequence of Revenge aka Max’s romance – the setting and plot was perfect. I knew it would be both amusing and entertaining.

I read The Consequence of Revenge in one sitting and I freaking loved it. It was more than I could have ever asked for from Rachel Van Dyken. It was hysterical.  However, what made me want to re-read this book was Max and Becca.  Every single moment in which Max was falling in love – I WAS SWOONING – their romance stole my heart. Together they are both sexy and sweet.

I think the author created the perfect match for Max. Becca understood who he is and instead of wanting him to be different, she just accepted him.  She jumped on his crazy train, tooted the whistle and they were off. They are awesome together. I devoured their book and want to make everyone I know read this series.

The Consequence Series is a top recommendation from me. I absolutely loved both books.  Get them today.
