book blurb

Trace Kogan will go to any length to protect those who need protecting. That is the business he is in; the business his father, Casper Kogan, started with Bryce Trexler more than thirty-five years ago. Trace spends day and night eliminating threats to clients, so when the danger hits too close to home, he won’t let anything come between him and the woman who desperately needs his help.

His fear… the physical reaction he has to Marissa may pose a bigger danger than the ghost that they find themselves up against.

Marissa Trexler has spent the last twelve months of her life in hiding, tucked away in one safe house after another for her own protection. The threat to her is real even if the reason is still unknown. Strangely, whoever is after her seems to find her no matter where she goes, leading her family to believe it’s an inside job.

So when the decision is made that Trace will provide personal protection, she can’t say no, even if being close to him adds another level of danger… and this one is to her heart.

my review

5 Stars

Oh my… I loved Wait for Morning. It is one of those books that should probably come with a warning – do not read in public because of strong desires to tend to your tingling lady bits.

This new series from Nicole Edwards is filled with sexy, badass alpha men and the smart, witty women who challenge them.  Their lives are fraught with the heart-pounding drama – it’s an intense, erotic ride that captures your attention and leaves you craving more.

I loved the first book’s coupling.  Trace and Marissa’s banter and barbs made me laugh out loud.  When they finally give into their sexual tension – whoa – the scenes are seductive and provocative.  Their romance then becomes so much more alluring because you can feel change in their connection.  Just know that it is not easy love affair.

There is a ton going on with this book’s plot but the author has created a strong foundation to build upon.  From the introduction of all the characters in the Sniper 1 families, to learning their back stories and then current drama with Marissa – it’s all enticing.  Right from the start this book is highly suspenseful and it continues throughout. You spend the entire book curious and anticipating the outcome.

When you finally learn Marissa’s truths and her secrets are bared – it’s all-consuming. She is a character that deserves respect and admiration.  The only thing more powerful than her inner strength is the passion and love Trace feels for her.  It is fierce.

The characters were addicting and I was sad when Wait for Morning ended.  I cannot wait for more from this series as well as the companion book, Beautifully Brutal from the Southern Boy Mafia series.  I definitely recommend that you check it out!
