From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a new novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.
At age twenty-one, Auburn Reed has already lost everything important to her. In her fight to rebuild her shattered life, she has her goals in sight and there is no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.
For once, Auburn takes a chance and puts her heart in control, only to discover that Owen is keeping a major secret from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.
To save their relationship, all Owen needs to do is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin.
Colleen Hoover is the author of eight New York Times bestselling novels. She self-published her first novel, SLAMMED, in 2012. Five months later it debuted on The New York Times. Colleen has since signed with Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, and currently has eight NYT’s bestselling novels and three novellas. Her next novel, November 9, is scheduled to release in November, 2015.
Ugly Love, a novel she released in August, 2014, is currently in pre-production with Hackybox Pictures and is slated to release in 2016.
She lives in Texas with her husband and their three sons.
Confess is brilliant. Within the pages of this book, Colleen Hoover shares her character’s barely healed wounds to the world and then takes you on the necessary journey to find the balm to soothe them. Her latest release requires you to surrender your complete attention because you’re so overcome with what she’s making you feel.
Why do I think this? Because within the boundaries of the plot, she gives you the experience the truly of healing. Her words give the ultimate feeling of grace. Hope. Love. Auburn and Owen’s story is guaranteed to create heartache as well as happiness and they will certainly leave you thinking about them long after you have finished reading.
Before I started Confess, I saw all the reviews that said Colleen Hoover made other people cry within minutes of beginning the first chapter and I honestly wondered, how the (f-bomb) did she do that?!? How is she going to emotionally connect me to characters so much so that she has me shedding tears within the first pages of Confess.
You quickly realize that it’s just Colleen’s shrewd writing style. She has an incredible ability to write powerful scenes that leave you weeping. She is so insightful – she creates, understands and develops these realistic characters that you would have to be dead inside to not feel empathy for them.
Don’t doubt the greatness. Just grab the damn tissues and settle in. Once you start, you are in it until the end because Confess is extraordinary. It’s a romance novel like none that I have ever read before – it will stand alone in its uniqueness and clever storyline. I cannot recommend it enough.
