Players gotta play.
Hate is like a poison. It contaminates everything.
So does doubt.
Even though I deny what I overheard, even though I insist it isn’t true, the seed of doubt has been planted. I can’t help but be tormented with the endless what-if’s that have taken over our lives.
Romeo and I were happy in love. The future stretched before us brighter than any star in the darkest sky. Now everything is broken. Literally broken. Romeo’s entire career is at stake, my entire future is threatened… and my past?
It’s coming back to haunt me.
To haunt us.
Romeo says we’re in this together and right now the only sure thing is us. But how far can a love so new be pushed? The lengths we will have to go to save each other puts everything at risk.
Romeo is a #player but how much of the game can one person play?

Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than twenty books. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair.
Besides writing, Cambria loves a caramel latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching movies. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she’d rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chorkie (the real boss of the house).
Cambria has written within the young adult and new adult genres, penning many paranormal and contemporary titles. Her favorite genre to read and write is romantic suspense. A few of her most recognized titles are: Text, Torch, Tryst, Masquerade, and Recalled.
Cambria Hebert owns and operates Cambria Hebert Books, LLC.
I quickly became addicted to the Hashtag Series and I devoured the first two books in a weekend. Holy drama and anxiety – the waiting. #Hater ended with such a harsh and destructive feeling. I was heartbroken for Romeo and Rimmel. I was horrified that Zach’s psychotic behavior destroyed Romeo’s football future and that in turn would harm the couple’s relationship. Needless to say, I was counting down the days for #Players release so I could have my conclusion.
I was terrified when I started the book – scared that the author was going to mess with a couple I loved. I had no clue how Cambria planned to give Rimmel and Romeo closure and a happily ever after. Her first two books were unpredictable and enjoyable, so I knew she had surprises in store for her readers. I just hoped she did it without breaking someone’s heart (even temporarily) or making it cheesy.
I apologize for doubting Cambria Hebert’s writing capabilities. I should not have been worried at all. Her plot moved along at a fast pace and kept you guessing from one moment to the next about what was going to happen. It is seriously intense. Certain truths come to light and suddenly the couple had more issues than just Romeo recovering from what a crazy kid from campus did.
But what withstood it all was Romeo and Rimmel’s attraction and affection – their love. If anything, it grew deeper and not just because they were desperate and needed someone. No, it was because they were an unstoppable force thanks to their trust and loyalty to each other. Instead of using the mass formula of destroying a couple to fix them as her story, the author give us an suspenseful adventure and made the couple stronger simply because they one another. I loved it.
Moment after moment in #Player captivated my attention. I loved every single minute of this book. It kept me on my toes and feeling melty. The connection and passion that I felt from Rimmel and Romeo in this book made me want to go back to the start and experience the whole journey again.
