my review

5 Stars

I loved this book.  Adam and Erin are now one of my favorite book couples and I think Jacked is a must read story.  It was freaking sexually rousing AND it had an awesome storyline. It was intense. From the very start, I was completely sucked into the character’s world and I was quickly intrigued with the unfolding plot.  (So much so that I pretended to be ill so I could stay home from a dinner party to continue reading. Don’t tell my friends but that’s how good this book is.)

When the story begins, you are thrown into Doctor Erin Novak chaotic life as ER surgeon. She has dedicated all of her energy to her career and to understanding how the human body works. The more you understand her character, the more you realize that she is trying to find penance for her past.  I discovered I liked Erin a lot – she was a smart, witty, compassionate female lead. I was rooting for her and got quite engaged in her story with Adam.

Detective Trent Adams will make you swoon. He was such an awesome character – he’s a hot, badass police officer in Philadelphia’s Auto Theft Task Force and unwilling hero. You cannot help but like this charming and sweet man.  When his world collides with Erin’s, he is immediately taken in by her gorgeous looks but he’s blown away by her personal strength of character. He admires the way she assesses a situation, acts quickly and demands the best out of everyone around her especially for her patients and from those she loves.

The two understand each other and what their all consuming careers require from both of them. It’s honestly not an easy journey to happily ever after – even though what they have together incredibly passionate, they have quite a bit stacked against them.  Stalker fans, ex’s, lots of poor communication and several damaging secrets.  Yet, however troubled these two are by their lives, they keep trying to move forward with each other even though life keeps on throwing obstacles in their way and as a reader, you also want them to succeed.

Jacked is an emotional and exciting ride start to finish. Once I started reading Adam and Erin’s story, I could not put it down and I am already looking forward to the other books in the Trent Brother’s series. I highly recommend you check Jacked out.  Seriously.  Buy it. Now.
